As I look back on 2019 and my “word” for the year B E L I E V E - it runs deep. My mom gave me a necklace with the word believe engraved on it, and as silly as it sounds, every day i wore that it reminded me of my intentions and mindset of this year.

Alika Design has been in business officially for almost 3 years. At the beginning of this year I quit my 9-5 job and took a big, brave leap into putting 100% of my time, creativity and energy into my dream. It came at the perfect time, even though i wanted it sooner, it all played out just at the right pace including the right people (including clients).

That was the best thing i ever did. I couldn’t have done it without the preparation and experiences leading up to it. Making that decision brought a lot of nerves, some self doubt, excitement, adrenaline and a lot of believing in myself and my abilities.

The word B E L I E V E carried me through this year. It encouraged me to try new things, take risks, boost my self confidence and trust in the plan for growing my dream business. I have a long ways to go to be where i imagine myself, but its these little steps of increasing growth that will get me there. The things we want in life don’t come over night. It takes hard work, dedication, falling down and getting back up and believing in yourself.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING, LOVING, ENCOURAGING AND BELIEVING IN ALIKA DESIGN. IN ME. I DO WHAT I DO BECAUSE IT IS MY PASSION, BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE I’M CONSTANTLY SERVING OTHER PEOPLE AND BECAUSE I TRULY BELIEVE YOUR HOME SHOULD FEEL LIKE YOUR HEAVEN.

As I walk into the year 2020, I am taking the lessons i’ve learned from believing and turning it into being and feeling E M P O W E R E D. I am anticipating a long of change and newness in the year 2020. A good portion of that anticipation could be bringing a little miracle into the world. Learning a new way of life and embracing it (including business / work life) is what i want this year to be about. Feeling empowered as a entrepreneur, business owner, creator, wife, mother and feeling empowered in the person that i am becoming.

I wish you a happy new year! A year of whatever it is you are reaching for in your life! I can not wait to let the plans and goals of Alika Design unfold throughout the year with you right by my side!
