I have been so excited for this reveal! It is the first “bigger” project we have done in our home & it has made me giddy the whole process. (!!) As an interior designer, I am used to creating & designing other peoples homes and kind of forget about my own at times haha.
My brother in law who works for Murdock Homes was my handy man & did EVERYTHING. I wish I could say i was a DIY -er. But I am NOT. And i’m totally ok with that haha! I love letting the professional do his job, and do it so well.
I knew i wanted the wide vertical shiplap but the color was killing me! I wanted it to be neutral, not too trendy - so i finally went with Down Pipe from Farrow & Ball. One of my very favorite paint brands!! It speaks to my personality & home more perfect than i could imagine.
The next best part of this whole design was THESE WALL HOOKS. You guys - I was searching for wall hooks knowing that i didn’t want that wall to be lonely & solid, and that it needed a little leather & brass combo. AND THEN I FOUND THESE from an adorable Etsy shop called 5mmpaper. I reached out right away & they got to me so quick & are amazing quality! They are oversized & beautiful.
This sweet shop is giving you 20% off their product!! Use code: ALIKADESIGN20 at checkout & make sure you hop over there before February 14th!!
Hello, hello! Today is all about how to do Valentines Day/February decor TASTEFULLY! Because I know how it is for you, some of us like to decorate seasonally or by holiday but some holidays JUST DON’T CUT IT.

You can never go wrong with a soft pink throw blanket to add to your sofa or on your bed to get that flavor of February in your home. Or a swap of your kitchen linens to keep you feeling festive while baking all of those Valentines candies & cookies!
One of my favorite ways to decorate for the holidays, always, is with florals! Real is ideal, but sometimes the faux stems do the trick & last longer!
I LOVE felt ball garlands. I found this neutral one with a touch of pink on etsy!
